 - Only unpack your FLEXiSKiP when you are ready to use it. Remember to make sure there are no obstructions like powerlines, trees, driveways, pathways and cars as this will prevent collection.
 - Your FLEXiSKiP must also not obstruct a public footpath.
 - The FLEXiSKiP must be accessible to be collected by a vehicle from the road.

Now you’re ready to fill your FLEXiSKiP (which is a 3m3 purpose built bag) with acceptable items from around the home, as per the instructions below.
When you’re done, login to the Handel web portal using your email. Then follow the prompts to book in your collection.
The service is on-demand so your FLEXiSKiP must be available for collection at time of booking a collection.
Using Your FLEXiSKiP

Unpack when you are ready to use
Let's grab your FLEXiSKiP out of its satchel (it's super light) and lay it out flat, ready to be filled.
Setting up
Hop inside your FLEXiSKiP (go on, we know you want to), lift all four sides up, then fold one side out and down over itself.
Ready to go
Fold out the remaining three sides, pushing out the bottom corners as you go (you'll be a FLEXiSKiP master before you know it).
Start filling
Avoid overfilling the FLEXiSKiP, ensure handles touch when complete. For heavy items, do not exceed the internal black line. Where FLEXiSKiP are overloaded this may result in a delay to the service due to the safety protocols. Handel must ensure operational staff's can work safely at all times. For your and our safety, we may be unable to collect in inclement weather.
Find the Best Place
Once half-full, raise all sides and place within four metres of the kerb. Make sure your FLEXiSKiP is not behind the fences and there are no obstructions like powerlines, driveways, pathways, and cars. Items left on the kerb outside of the FLEXiSKiP may be considered as rubbish illegally dumped on public land and as such, local laws will apply.
Get your FLEXiSKiP collected
When full, scan the QR code on the bag or use the link in your notification emails. You can then select collection in the portal. Your FLEXiSKiP will be collected within 3 business days.

The City of Gold Coast (the City) has introduced monthly service allocations on the Bulky Kerbside Collection Service. Once the monthly allocation set by the City is reached, no further orders can be placed until the allocation resets on the first business day of each month. FLEXiSKiP delivers this service on behalf of the City but does not control or adjust the service allocations.
 -

Yes. If you have already received your FLEXiSKiP, you can still book your collection as normal. The allocation only applies to new orders, not existing collections.
 -

All feedback or questions about the service allocation should be directed to the City of Gold Coast by visiting https://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/Services/Waste-recycling/Residential-bins/On-demand-bulky-kerbside-collection or by calling 07 5667 5976. FLEXiSKiP delivers the service on behalf of the City, and does not make decisions regarding the allocation.
 -

A service allocation is a limit on the number of orders for a FLEXiSKIP that can be done each month. Once the allocation is reached no further orders can be taken for the month.

Since Tropical Cyclone Alfred we have had a significant increase in customers ordering a FLEXiSKIP. This has meant the budget for the service has been used quicker than expected and we are introducing a service allocation to make sure we can manage the remaining budget. By introducing the allocation, we don't have to reduce or change other services to fund the increase in requests for FLEXiSKIP's. We understand it can be disappointing if the monthly allocation has been reached when you want to use the service. Residents are encouraged to visit their local Waste and Recycling Centre for bulky waste disposal. *There are limitations to the volume and type of wastes that can be disposed of at these sites. To find out more information visit https://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/Services/Waste-recycling/Waste-recycling-centres-map
 -

Allocation numbers will depend on whether the previous month's allotment has been used. The ordering form will clearly advise if there are no more services available in the month you have selected.
 -

You can place a new order on the first business day of the next month.
 -

Orders for the FLEXiSKiP service are actioned in time order, i.e. processed in order that they are received. Orders are stopped once the service allocation has been reached for the month.
 -

We understand that this may occur and recommend customers access the City's Waste and Recycling Centres for disposal of bulk household items. The on-demand bulky kerbside service is not funded via rates collections. It is funded by the City's Community Service Obligation Fund. If your order hasn't been successful you can access the City's Waste and Recycling Centres, which are available to all residents. These centres accept a wide range of household items and are a convenient option for disposing of bulky waste.
